Dear Parents,
We are almost finished with Lesson 3 in Das neue Deutschmobil 1. The students have learned more than 20 common verbs and are able to act them out, speak about them and write sentences using them. Also the students have made posters that tell about themselves. Please come and see them displayed in the German room 1.03.
We focused on:
· Personal pronouns: ich, du, sie, er
· Verbs used in speaking and writing: Er schwimmt. Sie macht Karate. Er hüpft.
· Writing about ourselves: Ich komme aus Japan. Ich kann gut Fußball spielen.
· Writing about another family: Familie Lehmann macht gern Sport. Frau Lehmann spielt Tennis. Monika Lehmann skatet gern.
Additional activities:
· Bingo game with numbers and verbs
· Total Physical Response (learning new vocabulary through actions)
· Partner games using pictures showing various actions
· Songs: Der Schlaumeier Rap, and Guten Tag, Hallo, Wie geht's?
These are in the book. Pages 20 and 29. Your children may want to sing them for you.
Just as a reminder: The students will bring their textbook and workbook home occasionally to let you see what they have been doing in German. A CD is available on an overnight check-out basis for listening comprehension and the songs. Please return the books and CD the next school day. You can contact me at any time by e-mail.
