• The children are taking home their math journals to share with you this weekend. Please help your child remember to bring his or her journal back on Monday!
• We played Mathletics today in the computer lab. Mathletics is a fantastic website to use from home to practice math in a fun and engaging way. http://www.mathletics.com/
• We have been reading poetry to introduce literature circles. This week, the children have practiced being Word Wizards, Capable Connectors and Discussion Directors. Once we have practiced all of the jobs, the children will choose books to read and discuss in a group. We have discussed how literature circles connect to our unit of inquiry.
• We finished our first read-aloud book this week – James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl. For the most part, we really enjoyed it, and many of us are reading Roald Dahl books during Silent Reading time.
I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
I hope you had a nice time playing mathletics.
