Conceptual Understandings ~ Number

Number operations can be modeled in a variety of ways. 

Think about the mind map our class made in order to develop our understanding of this statement.  Why is it important to be able to demonstrate our understanding in a variety of ways?  How can you model multiplication, addition, subtraction and division?  You can reflect on this orally, in your math journal or as a comment on our blog.

Home/School Connection:  Talk with your family about this statement.  Show different ways to model a multiplication combination that you are working on.

    I like this unit because it is about helping other people who don't have as much water as we so we are trying to find things out about that and then try to help them.

    you could use tiles and cubes, story problem, arrays, stacking, round it up to make an easyer problem, equations, drawing, number line, skip count, use known fact.
