German News from the Intermediate group

Geolino magazines, the Quiesel book series and books by Janosch have become increasingly popular during free reading. Students have written book recommendations which will include a picture of them with their favorite book. Several students have written their own stories and shared them with the class.

We watched a film adaptation of the fairy tale "Frau Holle," during which students wrote a summary of the action. In groups, students collaborated on short sketches or other representations of the fairy tale. Feedback showed that students understood most of the film's content and worked well together in groups.

Recently students have been creating stories together based on vocabulary from the Deutschmobil textbook. In the current story, a girl wakes up and opens the window to see a koala bear eating chocolate. She packs her own bags full of chocolate before the telephone rings... (to be continued)

Students have enjoyed making decisions to change the plot of the interactive story "Tom und das Erdbeermarmaladenbrot." These and other adventures are available for viewing on kindernetz.de.

Best Regards,
Herr Neas
